The Next Meeting of the Stokesdale Planning Board is Thursday, October 2, 2008.

The Stokesdale Town Council adopted the Town of Stokesdale Development Ordinance on June 18, 1998 with an effective date of July 1, 1998.   The adoption of the Development Ordinance included the adoption of related and appropriate zoning maps, thoroughfare plan, and designated water supply watershed map as a part of the Ordinance.

The purpose of the Town of Stokesdale Development Ordinance is to promote the health, safety, morals, and general welfare of the residence of the Town of Stokesdale through the regulations of the Ordinance.

Copies of the Stokesdale Development Ordinance are available for purchase from the Guilford County Planning Department and at the Stokesdale Town Hall. 

The Planning Board is currently made up of twelve members, 7 voting members and 5 alternate members who serve as voting members when a regular member is absent. 

The Planning Board meets on the first Thursday of each month at the Stokesdale Town Hall at 7:30 PM.  The following are the 2008 dates.  The Board generally cancels meetings if there are no cases to be heard.

STOKESDALE FUTURE LAND USE PLAN (2007)

A land use plan is a planning tool that provides the community a "roadmap" to guide growth so that it occurs in a predictable manner to best suite the needs of current and future citizens.  After public input and review,  the Stokesdale Future Land Use Plan was adopted by the Stokesdale Town Council on September 20, 2001. 

Council adopted a revision of the Future Land Use Plan on October 18, 2007.  .
